Facebook and Anti-Abortion Clinics Are Collecting Highly Sensitive Info on Would-Be Patients<\/a><\/h2>\n

Facebook is collecting ultra-sensitive personal data about abortion seekers visiting “crisis pregnancy center” websites whether or not they’re logged into their Facebook account<\/em>, and enabling anti-abortion organizations to use that data as a tool to target and influence people online. \u00a0So-called “crisis pregnancy centers” are fake abortion clinics that instead attempt to convince people not to get abortions. Related, from last week: Google search results for abortion services are leading users to \u2018fake clinics\u2019, new study finds<\/a>, from Center for Digital Hate, reports that over 10% of searches for \u201cabortion clinic near me\u201d and \u201cabortion pill\u201d in trigger states lead to “crisis pregnancy centers” rather than real abortion clinics.<\/p>\n
