A win for social network activism!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.facebook.com\/blog.php?post=54434097130\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px; float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/225\/503165914_a680a56c77.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"75\" \/><\/a>With over 90,000 members in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.new.facebook.com\/group.php?gid=77069107432\">the protest group on Facebook<\/a>, EPIC (the Electronic Privacy Information Center) and other privacy organizations <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcworld.com\/article\/159703\/facebook_privacy_change_sparks_federal_complaint.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">filing a complaint<\/span> readying a complaint to file with the FTC<\/a>,  <a href=\"http:\/\/consumerist.com\/5155538\/facebook-privacy-fallout-goes-nuclear\">over 750 articles<\/a>, and headlines like <a href=\"http:\/\/techblog.dallasnews.com\/archives\/2009\/02\/facebook-seems-to-have-a-trust.html\">Facebook seems to have a trust problem<\/a>, it&#8217;s not too surprising that Facebook decided to rethink their stance on the Terms of Service changes.<\/p>\n<p>And sure enough, from Mark Zuckerberg&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.facebook.com\/blog.php?post=54746167130\">Update on terms<\/a> late last night:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Going forward, we&#8217;ve decided to take a new approach towards developing our terms. We concluded that returning to our previous terms was the right thing for now&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Our next version will be a substantial revision from where we are now. It will reflect the principles I described <a title=\"http:\/\/blog.facebook.com\/blog.php?post=54434097130\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.facebook.com\/blog.php?post=54434097130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">yesterday<\/a> around how people share and control their information, and it will be written clearly in language everyone can understand. Since this will be the governing document that we&#8217;ll all live by, Facebook users will have a lot of input in crafting these terms&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to get involved in crafting our new terms, you can start posting your questions, comments and requests in the group we&#8217;ve created\u00e2\u20ac\u201d<a title=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/group.php?gid=69048030774\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/group.php?gid=69048030774\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook Bill of Rights and Responsibilities<\/a>.
