His most recent book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Here-Comes-Everybody-Organizing-Organizations\/dp\/1594201536\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations<\/span><\/a>, evaluates the significant role being played by technological advances on the formation and experience of modern group dynamics, citing such examples as Wikipedia and MySpace to demonstrate the Internet&#8217;s power in bridging geographical and cultural gaps.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Shirky&#8217;s hot-hot-hot around the internets these days, between the book (excellent reading!) and his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.herecomeseverybody.org\/2008\/04\/looking-for-the-mouse.html\">Gin, Television, and Social Surplus<\/a> talk at O&#8217;Reilly&#8217;s Web 2.0 conference, so this is really exciting.  And of course this ties in extremely well with the all-day <a href=\"http:\/\/http\/\/cfp08.blogspot.com\/2008\/04\/workshop-activism-and-education-using.html\">Workshop on Activism and Education Using Social Networks <\/a>running in parallel with other CFP activities the day before Shirky&#8217;s talk.
